Spares for 10" wheel trailer
« on: 31 Mar 2015, 09:40 »
I have converted my unbraked 10" wheeled trailer to braked 13", so none of this is of any use to me any more:

Spare 10" wheel & tyre x 2  FTAGH*
Selection of Avonride spare hubs and bearings FTAGH*
Heavy duty Bulldog wheel clamp, cost £150 new, make me an offer

* Free to a good home

If you are interested, contact me by pm or (less reliably) by email: graham dot wickenden at btopenworld dot com.

The wheels have been reserved, as have the the spare bearings etc by someone else.

The wheel clamp, which is a bit of a beast and taking up space, is still for sale.

The wheels are now available FTAGH again.  You need to have 4" PCD studs on your hubs to be able to use them.

Graham,

Any details on carrying out the conversation as it is a task I am looking to do in the near future.

Hi Bob,

The cost of the conversion of unbraked 10” to braked 13” (including a new spare wheel) is somewhere in the region of £700 + VAT if it’s done by CLH.  I wasn't brave enough to do it myself. You may be able to negotiate a discount, especially if CLH take back all the old hardware, which they can recycle. If you do a lot of trailing it is definitely worth it and I would say that in terms of making trailer sailing easier, it is one of the best modifications that I have had done. It seems to save petrol too!

Graham,
Thanks for the info and link to other thread.  I am convinced of the benefits of doing it just not clear on technical challenge of carrying it out. I will chat to CLH trailers in due course.

Bob
