Replacing rudder uphaul
« on: 20 May 2018, 11:03 »
I need to replace this line as it is getting frayed where it goes through the tiller. It looks like I just drill out the old one and replace and epoxy it . Anyone done this? I think I might use something with a slightly smaller diameter too. Gives me the opportunity to repair the tip of rudder too where I keep hitting the bottom!

Brilliant - many thanks for the help. Looks pretty straight forward. I took photo of rope arrangment before removing rudder and spotted they went round black pulley from opposite directions.

While you’ve got the rudder off, you might want to have a look at reducing rudder play by using PTFE washers - or CD’s! http://www.swallowyachtsassociation.org/smf/index.php/topic,1001.0.html
