Mainsail leech lines (again)
« on: 17 Jul 2022, 16:48 »
Does anyone have photos of the anti-flutter lines on the leech of their Hyde gunter-rigged mainsail that they could post?  Sailing into an F5 at Mylor, my mainsail started up an almighty thrumming and fluttering, which hasn’t happened in quite a while.  I know that the leech can be tensioned by pulling down and cleating the lines that are sewn into it but it didn’t seem to work.  Either I was doing it wrong or the business ends of the lines have defensively retracted into the interior, ninja-style, and need to be coaxed out again.  All help gratefully received.
