Another new electric outboard is about to appear on the market
https://remigo.eu. This one has an unusual design, similar in some ways to the forthcoming Temo 1000, which is made in France

Looking at the specifications, it seems to have the following advantages compared to similarly powered Torqeedo and eProp outboards:
Simple and robust unibody-type design (fewer parts to break off, especially compared to the flimsy Torqeedo)
Very light - only 13.5kg all in, compared to 17 and 19kg for the Torqeedo and eProp, respectively
Stepless shaft length adjustment - important for those of us trying to shoehorn motor shafts into short outboard well openings
Claimed to be highly waterproof as the battery is integrated into the body and there are no dodgy cables to connect up
Unlike older Torqeedos, no whining gearbox as the direct drive brushless motor is housed in an underwater nacelle, so presumably nice and quiet
The apparent disadvantages:
Because the battery is integrated, the whole outboard (except for the transom bracket) has to be demounted if charging off site
There’s no chance of taking a spare battery along with you (not a Remigo one anyway)
The throttle control is a two-button affair on top of the motor casing - no twist grip, which could be awkward in close quarter work
Lower battery capacity than the eProp Spirit but higher than the Torqeedo
If using with a short shaft, there’s quite a large part of the aluminium body projecting above the transom bracket, looking like a prominent self-steering vane with garish reflective decals on it
The vane-type design may limit how hard over the motor can be pushed within the narrow limits of BayRaider outboard wells
At current exchange rates, the price of £2,350 plus shipping is uncompetitive, especially compared to the eProp
