Title: Boarding ladders on a transom
Post by: Julian Swindell on 07 Feb 2010, 19:44
Has anyone fitted a permanent boarding ladder to the sloping transom of a BayRaider? I want to fit one to my BayCruiser but cannot figure out the best way to deal with the slope of the transom. Most simple folding ladders will hang vertical and swing about when stowed. In use they would pivot forward under load, making them hard to climb. Any ideas? I am thinking of a telescopic ladder, somehow propped out from the transom so that it doesn't pivot forward. The attached looks possible:

Has anyone any experience of this type of ladder? Do they last a long time or do they jamb?
