Title: lying an anchor
Post by: adel11252 on 01 Apr 2016, 19:16
Owner of a BRE , lying an anchor one has to climb on the forward cabin to drop it off the bow. This is not comfortable in a BRE ,if one is solo sailing and the sea is choppy.   Any suggestions please.

See Jonathon Stuart's post on this hyperlink, it may give you ideas on Bre anchoring

FYI, we still use this technique because it works so well. I now keep a warp coming back to each side of the boat so we can deploy the anchor from either side of the cockpit. These warps are also used as bow mooring lines when on a pontoon and would be used if we ever need a tow.
