Title: Osprey as a hobie drive craft?
Post by: Brian Pearson on 10 Jun 2012, 12:21
One of the UK-HBBR members, Tim O'Conner, has had success with fitting the Hobie drive system to a Walt Simmonds canoe he built. He has just built a larger more roomy boat and added the Hobie Drive again.
Looking at the first picture of her on the way down the Thames to Beale, I was struck by what a great concept it was. The hull is a sort of Rangley/Guideboat and looks great.

Then realised that Osprey might work, although I think the drive box is best on a narrow flat plank keel.
