It needs 12V plus NMEA 0183 wind info as output by some NASA wind sensors and displays the wind direction on an expanded scale during periods that you are either beating of running. When reaching it makes it look as if the wind is on the quarter - which constantly confused me, hence it is no longer on Seatern!
I realise I'm not doing a good job of "selling" it, but it might suit someone who is keen on racing, or petrified of accidental gybes!
