Notes From Mylor Trip
« on: 29 Jun 2018, 19:21 »
Just got back from Mylor Yacht harbour after a very good week of sailing, brand new wider and longer pontoon at Pandora Inn and the food is still excellent. St Mawes inner harbour pontoon available (at a cost) to moor up with shore access. Also told the sailing club at St Just is making the pontoon available for visitors this year, but we used the King Harry road bridge and visited by car. Most impressed with the church and grounds. Pontoon available at Smugglers cottage (no tea room now unfortunately (they charge 3 pounds for a two hour stop). The beach just east of Flushing is a great place to put the boat onto, we landed to the right of the wall as you look onto the shore and if you keep the hut directly in front of you will avoid any rocks.
Space on the visitors section of the MYH pontoons very limited this year and no finger pontoon space available for the time we were there.
New menu at Castaways, food still very good but no Carbonara or Tiramisu I’m afraid this year.

Road access once you leave the A39 was clear apart from road works at the junction where you take a left for MYH and right for flushing (Three way traffic light control with bollards limiting the road width). Last year we took the same route back from MYH to the A39 and turning right onto the A39 was a real nightmare, this year we picked up the A39 in Falmouth and apart from a few tight corners it was an easy route (you join the A39 just down the road from the Lidl store and Pets at Home if you need these stores.
