BRe air draft
«

Does anybody know what the airdraft is of the Bay Raider Expedition?
I expect to sail under an number of bridges this weekend. It would be a pity if one of them proves to be too low.
This information cannot be found on the SB website.

I don't know either but as the mast is as long as the boat + bowsprit and the tabernacle is well above the water I would guess at 9 metres and would make ready to dip my mast in the same fashion as I used to on my wayfarer for any obstruction with an airdraft less than 10 metres; and be very careful indeed for phone and electricity lines! I would be reluctant to 'dip' my mast if I didn't have the winch that comes with the mark 2 version and I must admit that I haven't tried it yet. Rory C

My BRe manual states the maximum air draft as being "8.2m in the light craft condition".

Is there a BRe manual? If so, where is it - I'd find it really helpful? The BR20 manual doesn't quite fit the bill.

David, thank you for the correct air draft.
I do not have a BRe manual, so if there is one i would appreciate a copy (PDF).
I did not hit any bridges but the mast still came tumbling down. But that is a different story...

Perhaps as Matt developes his manual database he will publish them on their website.
