Hi all. has anyone fitted a flagstaff and mount (stainless steel) to the transom area of a BC23?

Finger trouble - failed to finish!  was going to say, don't have access to my boat so unable to measure or check to see if a typical mount will in fact fit on the teak trim at the transom. bit worried the width of the trim may mean the fitting screws are too close to the edge. Appreciate your thoughts or info on how /where you fitted a flagstaff mount.  Cheers

Typically a ensign pole socket is through bolted on the centre line of the aft deck, equidistant between the cockpit coaming and the rise of the taff.  I wouldn't recommend screwing anything into the taff rail itself.
