Mylor raid 2020?
« on: 27 Sep 2019, 20:29 »
Appreciate that swallow yachts have had a busy year, and not all "good" (fire).

As 2019 season closes, and winter approaches, any thoughts on a Summer 2020 event in the West country...ideally Mylor?

There are several 2020 events scheduled already....

BRe # 52 - "Two Sisters"  2016. Plank sprit, conventional jib. Asym spinn. Coppercoat. Honda 5. SOLD Nov 2022....
...From Oct 22.
BC 26 #1001. "Two Sisters 2", 2013. Alloy spars, Bermudan Sloop; fixed twin spade rudders, Beta diesel saildrive. Lift keel with lead bulb. Coppercoat. Cornwall UK.

Just buying BRE 43 and we're based in Mylor, see you there if it happens and happy to help out with the arrangements. Martin and Julie

Is this happening?  I see that Jonathan has posted some dates in the events section (29/6 to 3/7) but I can’t find details of it anywhere else.

Further to my original post of sept 19.
I saw the dates appear on the events section, but have heard/seen no more.

Have made no attempt to follow up; unfortunately I'll be working at that time...again.
Maybe next year?

Yes definitely planning on going ahead or at least I hope so as we have booked a place and paid a deposit!
Cheers,

Lara told me that it's already fully booked, with a waiting list. I think some sort of mail shot was sent out soon after the previous raid finished and was sold out very quickly!

"Lara told me that it's already fully booked, with a waiting list"

Disappointing; and for several would-be raiders I would assume?

Do we need to get on to some sort of list....maybe for 2021?

I hope to get down to watch Falmouth Classics this year, but perception is that a BRe does not qualify to enter; I'm not arguing with that, what with my carbon Bermudan rig, asymmetric etc.
I think a standard BR (arguably much more a "spirit of Classic" - at least in looks?) entered last year, but results now don't show boat class, only owner.
TimLM would be OK!

I had an email from Lara a few days ago saying that the raid has been cancelled for obvious reasons,
