Golfe du Morbehan 2009
« on: 28 May 2009, 23:18 »
Good to see a veritable flotilla of Swallow boats at the Semaine du Golfe. Bayraiders attracted a great deal of interest - especially Rhiannon with her lovely woodwork. This partly on looks and partly on the fact that they sailed rings around most everything else! Even my little CBL had the satisfaction of skinning a few popular marques in the F3 to Vannes - and wasnt I glad of the cabin that night. Chilly or what! Photos to follow.

Is there anymore feedback from others who went to Morbihan? It would be nice to have some more news.

Julian,
few responses here so far, probably due to many of us Morbihaners needing some rehab time first, too many oysters, liquids and sun during the regattas there. A fun time throughout for all.

Jacques of BR 'Azalai' already spotted some third party photos on the web, http://www.jbonnal.com/photos/golfe/ . A fine one of BR 'Spark' in there, at # 32.
Jacques also took a lot of photos himself, to be found at http://picasaweb.google.fr/dewittejacques/Golfe?feat=directlink# . Great stuff.

Pelham got the prize for 'Most Elegant Boat' for his SeaRaider 'Latis' (below), well earned. 'Latis' with her cutter rig sailed like a witch too, pointing even higher than the BR's.

After Morbihan is before Morbihan. We'll go back there 2011, the hotel is already reserved.

If you BayCruiser should be ready by then, do come along! ;)

I do not like the words "If" and "should"!!! She WILL be launched in July (inshallah). Sounds like Morbihan was fun.

Hi, Claus.

"After Morbihan is before Morbihan..."

I like that. Has a sort of Zen feel to it ....or the start of a prediction from ancient  Delphi.
(Also suggests the idea that next time there will be so many Swallow Boats that they will need their own Flotilla!)
