Mercury propane outboard

The mercury 5 hp propane outboard has only been available in the US for a few years. They essentially took Their gas model and converted it to run on propane. Don,t Know how the gasoline is in Europe but with the US additives you can’t leave it in an engine or tank for very long because gums the whole works.  Propane doesn’t get old and has none of the problems that the gasoline engines have.
I placed a standard 20 pound, 4 1/2 gallon barbecue propane tank in the bow of the boat. I ran a propane line down the center along the centerboard trunk to the rear and attach to the motor. hardest part was finding an 18 foot propane line, it has to be a non-leaching line and they are not readily available. Had a company custom make it for me.
Five hp is way too large for the boat, but it is the only size available in propane. The  motor runs identical to a gas engine and will go five or six hours on one tank of propane.
