Small carbine or snap hooks
« on: 18 Jun 2012, 23:17 »
 :-\ Hi everyone!

Does anyone know of a source of carbine or snap hooks in 316 s/s smaller than 4mm/40mm length, which seems to be the standard 'small'. Something like 3mm/25-30mm length would be ideal. I found some in some sort of alloy, on eBay, last year, but they're not robust enough. I need them for arcane aspects of junk rig, in case anyone wondered.

Opportunity to say - brilliant new website. Thanks, Jonathan, must have been a lot of work. Very well done.

Cheers      Michael

Thanks, Graham, that'll do nicely! (I thought I'd been to that website: funny how easy it is not to see things from looking to hard - or something.) If I could find some carbine hooks to match, I'd be a happy (marine) bunny.

Just in case anyone else is interested, I found some small (4mm = 40mm long, 416 s/s, with eyelet) carbine hooks from SecureFix Direct, in their Marine and Yachting section. Excellent price - 75p, and prompt delivery. They seem well made. There is a big range of sizes, and some interesting other goodies. I suggest a site worth bookmarking.
