Sail repairers - recommendations?
« on: 05 Mar 2013, 06:42 »
I need some minor repairs to my mainsail and mooring cover.  Does anyone have any recommendations for repairers?  It probably doesn't matter too much where they are located as it will have to be done by post.

Concept Sails in Poole repaired my frayed mizzen very quickly and well, and just for £25. They also made a whole new mizzen for BC003 which was shredded when it came unfurled on its mooring. They seemed to make a good job of that too

I have just got my sails back from Dolphin sails in West Mersey. They originally made the sails. This time I had them washed and generally tidied up during the winter. I also had two battens put in the main and a small "hole" in the mizzen next to the mast, so that I could easily tie the gaff to the mizzen mast when it was lowered.

The work looks good. I wait to see how it all works when the weather is warmer.
