Seatern has arrived
« on: 23 Dec 2013, 14:38 »
At long last Matt delivered my BC20 "Seatern" on thursday (19th Dec). It was nice of him to dress up (see "photo"   ;D ). Seatern features some innovations from Julian Swindell such as a full height cabin bulkhead on the port side and a fixed stern boom gallows.  She also has some innovations of her own - a "galley unit" extending to the centre board case (with self draining sink), and a detachable section of mast track which carries the gooseneck and mainsail in its boom bag. The latter is designed to allow me to easily lower the mast (using the jib halyard to a self-tailing winch) so that I can go under a nearby bridge.

I'll make some photos available here, or elsewhere on the web, when the weather allows me to take some. Given the conditions since she arrived I'm beginning to think I should have called her "Storm Petrel"!

Hi Jim,
Yes I'm very pleased with her and if the storms over here ever cease I'll try to get more photos! To be going on with, here's one of her arriving at her new home with Matt Newland acting as a fender!
Seasons Greetings!
Peter
