I'm keen to explore Kielder Water sometime this summer. Has anyone got experience here or is anyone else interested?

Hi Rory,

We have never sailed on Kielder before but would be very interested in joining you if the dates fit.

Hi Rory, Chris and Helen, I've never sailed on Kielder either but hope to be in that area with Liz (Mrs Peacock) and Gladys sometime between Fri 1st and Sat 9th August.

:-[ I've decided to postpone an exploration of Kielder to another year in view of the costs associated according to the reply to my request to Kielder Sailing Club copied below.
Dear Rory,

Many thanks for your enquiry. I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply.

I have spoken to other committee members. We can offer 'Country Membership' to members of another RYA-affiliated sailing club or similar.

This will give you access to all our club's facilities during the summer, and is often requested by visitors bringing their boat for one to two weeks at a time during a summer. We could give you a key to use during this time. The cost of County Membership for a year is £80.

Please see http://www.kielderwatersc.org/join-us/country.html for further details.

You would, in addition, need to register your boat with Northumbrian Water, at a cost of £26, which would cover you for a year.

If you have any further queries then please feel free to contact me.

Kind regards,

Adrian Langford.
Sailing Secretary,
Kielder Water Sailing Club.
