I've decided to postpone an exploration of Kielder to another year in view of the costs associated according to the reply to my request to Kielder Sailing Club copied below.

Many thanks for your enquiry. I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply.
I have spoken to other committee members. We can offer 'Country Membership' to members of another RYA-affiliated sailing club or similar.
This will give you access to all our club's facilities during the summer, and is often requested by visitors bringing their boat for one to two weeks at a time during a summer. We could give you a key to use during this time. The cost of County Membership for a year is £80.

You would, in addition, need to register your boat with Northumbrian Water, at a cost of £26, which would cover you for a year.
