2015 Events

This may be a tad premature, but I think it's worth starting a thread to coordinate 2015 events. A thread has been started to discuss the Ullswater rally and move it to accommodate the Semaine du Golfe so let's plan other events so that we have a good number of sailing events and their dates allow maximum participation.

Below is the draft events calendar for 2015:

25-26 April : Rutland Rally
11-17 May: Semaine du Golfe du Morbihan
23-30 May: Sail Caledonia
13-14 June: Ullswater Rally
?? : Weymouth Rally ??
Late summer (TBC): Bala Rally
TBC: Teifi Rally

Thoughts:

I'm happy to organise another Weymouth event. 27th/28th June is one option or is that too close to Ullswater?
Any interested doing something in Cornwall, e.g. out of the Fal estuary, or is that too far for most folk?
Other ideas and locations?

If there is appetite I might be persuaded to run another Teifi rally in 2015, but the venue may be wearing a little thin? The date would be governed by availability of a suitable weekend tide and agreement with the Teifi Boating club. In practice it is usually late December by the time I can pin this down. June is my preferred month if a tide exists. School hols are generally ruled out as the Teifi Boating club yard gets very busy / crowded. I have gone for September this year due to lack of suitable tides in June, but recognise that this late in the season may not be of appeal to most?

I have added Teifi and Rutland to the list.

Gareth - If you're still happy to run this then I suggest we continue with the rally. Let us know your thoughts on dates when you have them.

I would be happy to go to Falmouth - perhaps for a longer weekend given the distance - but its a great place to sail and theres lots to explore.

Fine by me Jonathan - but I won't be able to confirm a date (for a Teifi 2015 rally) until late December.
