Thanks, Nicky.
I was thinking of suggesting Bradwell, but I wasn’t sure about the pontoon - I guess they don’t have one!

Thanks for the North Fambridge suggestion. We'll look into that.

We launch from Bradwell marina normally when we sail on the Blackwater. It’s accessible for most of the tidal range. It’s generally a good slip, although it’s quite narrow and you have to be careful of a post off the end of the slip. Sometimes you have to wait for other boats as there’s only space for one boat on the slipway at a time, but we’ve never had to wait for too long.

Hi Nicky,
North Fambridge might be an option.

I’ve not launched from the marina, but I have been meaning to check it out as an option.

You should be able to get to the mouth of the Crouch and back on one tide, even though it’s quite far up river.

By the way, can I ask where you launch from on the Blackwater? I’ve been hoping to find some East coast slipways to try.

Hi
Does anyone know of anywhere that you can launch with a pontoon alongside the luachn ramp on the south or east coast? I’m a bit less agile than normal at the moment, and think I’m going to find it hard to climb into the boat from the ramp. I know of several launching ramps that would be suitable in Devon and Cornwall, but they’re too far away for a weekend sail and our usual East coast launching spots on the Orwell and Blackwater are rather more basic!
Thanks
Nicky

Nigel, thanks.

Best we wait?

I guess quite a few people (ultimately) will be pleased to find out which anchors fit the BC 21?

Sea Simon,
I just arrived in Devon and plan to see her later today. She just got a fresh coat of non skid on the cockpit floor and fresh paint in the entire cockpit, so should be in Bristol condition.  I will get her down to Blackness and rigged ready for sailing next week.
Regards
Mark

Mark, I saw Pippin undercover at the sheds at Baltic Wharf, Totnes when I was poking about up there a couple of months ago now I  guess?
She looked well - great boat, especially  for a keen/would-be Raider.

Technical / Flooding locker

My 8 year old BRE keep taking on water in the locker. Despite having a mooring cover.

This time there was so much that there would have been less had I not sealed off the fuel pipe port.

I’m thinking a hull-deck joint problem any other thoughts?

V interesting Mark, and having raced against you at Mylor last year, I  can see that there's little in Foxwhelps spec, nor your helming ability to have stopped you doing better at Dart! 😉. Pleasure to have met, and raced you!

RORC have been persuaded to correct my keel type...but guess what?
My rating is unchanged... who'd have thought it? 😱.
They also are very reluctant to show their workings...which to me, as a marine technologist/CMarEng, speaks volumes...

RORC, IRC and now YTC etc is some sort of proprietary intellectual property it seems, out of which a few people seem to make a good/satisfying living?

Rather frustrating for us all....?
